Dragons, Hobbits & Center Pivots

Water glistened in the sunlight creating tiny little rainbows across the farmer’s field. Birds were flying in the sky. The air was crisp and fresh. It was a very peaceful scene and the woman was thankful for the agricultural sights that made the Western Nebraska drive pleasant. All of a sudden the grinding of machinery broke into her peaceful revelry. What’s this?! In a nearby field, a center pivot was reversing direction and speeding up! She watched in horror as the enormous sprinkler changed its direction, and began hurtling across the field the wrong way toward other machinery and equipment in its path. She had a fleeting vision of[…]

Come Heck or High Water

The camera focuses on a family enjoying a nice day out on the lake in a small boat. The camera pans out and we discover not a lake and a lovely day for a picnic…but rather, we see submerged roof tops and water cluttered with debris. The helicopter suddenly appears overhead, extends a lift system and raises the family to safety. Something like this always “happens to someone else”. Watch the video below to see flooding happening to other Nebraskans. This demonstrates that the possibility of floods happening in “land locked”, “drought ridden” Nebraska is not so far fetched. Have you[…]

New Year…New Lawsuits – Protect Yourself!

As we start the New Year, it is always a good idea to take a look at your insurance protection to make certain that you are still properly protected in the event of loss or damage to your belongings. Bad Hair Day

It rained here the other day, thanks to me. No, I cannot call forth rain from the heavens and I did not wash my car – which seems to produce a storm every time. No, I did something every woman knows will absolutely guarantee poor weather: I fixed my hair! You see, I renewed my driver’s license the other day. (Yes, that means it’s almost my birthday!) With that in mind, I thought it would be wise to have a decent hair-do, after all, who wants to me immortalized for the next several years with a bad hair day! Mother-Nature[…]

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Although not 100% Irish, I’m about as Irish as they come (red hair and fiery temper… occasionally…) When I was a kid we visited Ireland and I have strong memories of green, green, and more green. The entire landscape was gorgeous and green, not to mention covered in historic castles. We visited one such castle, Blarney Castle, which houses the famous Blarney Stone. The stone is believed to be half of the Stone of Scone which originally belonged to Scotland. Scottish Kings were crowned over the stone, because it was believed to have special powers of royal succession. There are[…]
